VRF Systems
Mitsubishi Diamond Elite, Daikin, and Samsung VRF systems.
VRF Systems
Design. Build. Install. Service.
Mitsubishi Diamond Elite Contractor · Daikin Comfort Pro · Samsung DVM S Certified
Variable Refrigerant Flow is the modern standard for commercial climate control — and it's also the easiest system to get wrong. Improper pipe sizing, sloppy commissioning, missed controls integration, or a mismatched branch box can quietly cripple a VRF system's efficiency for years before anyone notices the utility bills climbing or comfort complaints mounting.
AM Heating & Air handles VRF systems end-to-end: design, build, install, commission, and maintain. Our team holds Mitsubishi Diamond Elite status — Mitsubishi Electric's highest contractor tier, awarded to the few dealers who meet their standards for training, volume, and installation quality. We're also certified on Daikin VRV and Samsung DVM S systems, which means we can specify the right platform for your project rather than forcing every building into the same box.
What we do with VRF
Design-build engineering. We work from architect drawings or your existing mechanical plans to design the VRF system from scratch — load calculations, equipment selection, pipe routing, branch box placement, controls architecture, electrical coordination. If you need engineered drawings sealed, we coordinate with licensed engineers. If your GC or owner has preferred brands, we work within those constraints.
Installation. Full install of outdoor condensing units, indoor units — wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, ducted concealed, floor-mounted console — BC controllers and branch boxes, refrigerant piping with proper braze joints and nitrogen purge, controls wiring, and final commissioning.
Commissioning. This is where most VRF installs fail — and where most service calls originate later. Our team commissions with manufacturer software and laptop-based diagnostics: verifying addressing, checking refrigerant charge against actual pipe length, running through operating modes, calibrating setpoints, and documenting the system for the owner's records.
Service and repair. 24/7 service on VRF systems throughout Southern California. We carry common parts for Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Samsung platforms on service vehicles. If we can't repair on the first visit, we tell you what's needed and when we'll be back — no surprises.
Preventive maintenance contracts. Scheduled maintenance keeps VRF systems running at rated efficiency and catches small issues before they become expensive repairs. Our contracts include seasonal inspections, refrigerant level checks, electrical connection audits, filter replacements, condensate system testing, and full documentation for your facility team.
What we're certified to install and service
- Mitsubishi Electric — City Multi, M-Series, P-Series
- Daikin — VRV IV, VRV LIFE, VRV EMERALD
- Samsung — DVM S, DVM S Eco
Typical project scope
Most of our VRF work falls in the $100,000 to $500,000 range — tenant improvements for commercial office space, hospitality buildouts, and phased upgrades for mid-size properties. We also handle smaller service contracts and larger multi-phase projects as needed.
Building types we commonly work in:
- Office buildings and tenant improvements
- Hotels and hospitality
- Mixed-use commercial properties
- Historic buildings where ductwork isn't practical
Why property owners choose AM for VRF
We design it right the first time. Most VRF failures trace back to the install, not the equipment. We run proper load calculations, size refrigerant piping to manufacturer specs, and document everything.
We commission it properly. We don't hand you a running system — we hand you a documented system with commissioning reports, as-built drawings, and parameter settings recorded.
We service what we install. Same team, same number, same people who know your building. You're not handed off to a call center.
We cover all of Southern California. San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, Orange, and San Bernardino counties — commercial clients aren't limited to one zip code.
