About Anderson Mechanical
Commercial mechanical services, Carlsbad-based
Anderson Mechanical, Inc. — d/b/a AM Heating & Air, Inc. — is a licensed C20 HVAC contractor based in Carlsbad, California. We service commercial and industrial clients throughout Southern California — San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, Orange, and San Bernardino counties — and residential clients across San Diego County.
Founded 2021. Built on over a decade of field experience.
AM was founded in 2021 by Jon Anderson. Jon spent his early career as a residential and light commercial service technician and installer, then joined the local union where he worked for years as a service tech, installer, and startup/commissioning specialist — leading field crews and training new technicians and apprentices along the way.
That background is what AM is built on. Most HVAC contractors specialize in one slice of the trade. Jon's union years covered the full range — from rooftop package units to chillers and cooling towers, from sizing residential systems to commissioning commercial VRF — and from doing the work himself to teaching it to the next crew. When Jon started AM, it was to build a company that reflected that breadth of experience and the standards he learned to hold.
What we do
Commercial mechanical services across all of Southern California:
- VRF Systems — Mitsubishi Diamond Elite, Daikin, Samsung
- Central Plant Systems — chillers, boilers, cooling towers, hydronics
- Commercial Kitchen Ventilation
- Variable Frequency Drives & Controls
- IT & Data Center Cooling
- Commercial Ventilation
Residential HVAC services across San Diego County:
- AC, heating, ductless mini-splits, indoor air quality, smart thermostats
The team
Jon leads a small team of full-time technicians and installers. Every tech is EPA-certified and trained to AM's standards — because the work we do on a chilled water loop or a VRF commissioning isn't something you pick up on the fly, and it isn't something we trust to outside labor.
Jon personally holds EPA 608 Universal certification and leads field work on complex commercial projects.

- C20 HVAC Contractor License #1077225 — California

Why AM
We do the work in-house. Commercial mechanical contracting is full of companies that subcontract the hard parts — VRF commissioning, central plant service, VFD programming — to specialists. We do that work ourselves.
We're honest about what we can't do. Every service page lists what we handle, what we don't, and where to find specialists for the parts that aren't ours. Commercial buyers have been lied to by contractors before. We don't do that.
We're built for service. Our core focus today is keeping existing commercial mechanical systems running. We're growing our design-build capability, but we're not going to oversell where we are. That transparency is why property managers, facility managers, and homeowners call us back.
